About Kristin
Kristin Williamson has spent two decades in public libraries, most of it watching kids fall in love with books, or struggle to find the right one that will ignite their love of reading. As Children's Services Manager for a 20-branch county library system, she's run elementary book clubs for years, and she's learned exactly what makes a kid latch onto a book they love and come back for the whole series. That instinct is what drives her own writing: never underestimate what kids can handle. Simplify the sentence, not the story. When she's not at the library, Kristin reviews children's literature for School Library Journal and has served on national and state book award committees, including the Odyssey Award, the Pura Belpré Award, and the Sequoyah Children's Book Award. She's a member of SCBWI and lives in Oklahoma.

The books
Strange Cases from Spender CreekA monster-of-the-week chapter book series for readers ages 7–9.Every case starts the same way: something strange happens in Spender Creek, and there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for it.Almost.Best friends, Dez and Alex investigate the odd, the unsettling, and the almost-explainable, from the school nurse's office to the woods behind the playground. In the spirit of series like Eerie Elementary and Jasper Rabbit's Creepy Tales!, with a healthy dose of The X-Files skepticism.Book One is complete and in the querying process.
